CONDITIONS OF USE
- The books are placed in an open shelf arrangement according to the DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification) classification system. In this system, the list shows which subject is expressed by which code is available in the library. There are also directions on the shelves. The tag information of the publications in the library can also be accessed from the online catalog search query on our library's website. Periodicals are placed alphabetically on open shelves.
LOAN RULES
- ÇOMU Libraries provide lending services to the academic and administrative staff and students of the university. Those who can borrow materials from ÇOMÜ libraries and benefit from electronic materials are limited to the persons listed in Article 22, paragraph 1 of the "Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Libraries Directive".
- Users cannot benefit from the lending service without a "Staff ID Card" or "Student ID Card".
- Reference sources, periodicals, unpublished theses, rare manuscripts and reserve publications are not on loan.
- No other book or material will be loaned to a member who has started to be charged a late fee unless he/she returns the borrowed material and pays the full amount of the accrued late fee.
- Members are required to make the loan process 15 minutes before the library closes.

Extending the Loan Period Recalling
- If a borrowed item has not been requested by another reader within the loan period, the item may be allowed to remain in the same reader's possession one more time for the same maximum period of time. In order to be checked out more than twice, the item must be brought to the Lending Desk and the item must not be reserved by another user.
- If the Library deems necessary, it has the right to recall the publication without waiting for the loan date.
- The recalled publication must be returned to the library within 3 days at the latest.
Late Fee of Loan Period
- No other book or material will be loaned to a person for whom a late fee has been applied, unless he/she returns the loaned material and pays the full amount of the accrued late fee.
- In cases where late notices (e-mail, mail, sms, etc.) sent by the library are not received by the member or are received late, there is no reduction or forgiveness of fines.
- For each publication that is not returned on time, 0,25 TL per day for up to 30 days and 0,50 TL for each day after 30 days.
- Users whose total late fee reaches 50 TL and above can not borrow publications again without paying the late fee. The late fee must be paid to the account below and the receipt must be submitted to the lending return desk.

- For return dates that fall on weekends or public holidays, publications must be returned before the holiday.
LOST AND DAMAGED PUBLICATIONS
- Members are obliged to protect the loaned publications and not to damage them.
- If a lost publication is not reported to the library before the return date, a late fee will be charged.
- Damaged publications are treated as lost publications.
- Members who are found to have intentionally damaged the publication will be charged the last edition price of the publication and the processing fee and will not be allowed to loan the publication for 2 months.
- Punishments are determined by the University Administrative Board every year.
GENERAL RULES
- It is forbidden to conduct group work or work aloud in the library, except in designated areas.
- Users are responsible for protecting their belongings. The library cannot be held responsible for any theft or loss that may occur.
- It is forbidden to enter the library with food and drinks other than bottled water, and smoking tobacco products.
- For the materials to be borrowed, materials cannot be taken out of the library before the loan process is done. Legal action will be taken against those who attempt to take out materials without being processed.
- Legal action will be taken against those who damage library facilities and materials.
- It is forbidden to shoot with cameras, cameras, etc. in the library without permission.
- It is forbidden to leave personal belongings for reservation purposes at study desks and individual study rooms. Unattended personal belongings are collected and delivered to the 1st floor hall desk.
- Tables and chairs in the library can only be moved by the staff. In no way can tables and chairs etc. be moved by the users.
- Cell phones cannot be used inside the library, and cell phones must be turned to silent while in the library.
- Rules can be rearranged when necessary.
