OFF-CAMPUS ACCESS
What is "Off-Campus Access"?
It is the opportunity for Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Members (full-time academics, staff and students) to access library electronic resources (databases, e-journals, e-books, etc.) from off-campus.
Who can benefit from "Off-Campus Access"?
In accordance with the license agreements, only the following groups can benefit from the Off-Campus Access service.
- Academicians
- University employees,
- Students of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University.
Due to license agreements, the following groups cannot benefit from this service.
- External users using the library,
- Temporary employees working on a project at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University.
How can I benefit from "Off-Campus Access"?
- Our members who have a Wireless Internet & Eduroam account used within ÇOMÜ Campuses can benefit from the "Off-Campus Access" service by applying the following settings to their personal computers for one time only.
- After making the settings, you will be asked for a username and password when accessing electronic resources from off-campus. At this stage, you can log in with the data of your Eduroam (ÇOMÜ Single Account) account information. You can visit https://eduroam.comu.edu.tr/ to get an Eduroam password.

Settings Required to Access ÇOMÜ Library Electronic Resources from Off-Campus with Eduroam Account
Internet Explorer
- Click on the icon in the upper right corner of your browser and open the Internet Options page.
- Click on the Connections tab.
- If you are using a wireless network, local area network or ADSL modem with Ethernet connection: Click on the Local Network Settings... button.
- Check the Auto-detect settings box.
- Check the Use automatic configuration script box and enter the following address in the address box: http://lib.comu.edu.tr/files/proxy.pac
- Click the OK button to exit.
Microsoft Edge
- Enter the Settings Menu.
- Click on the Advanced button.
- Click the Open Intermediate Server Settings button.
- Turn on the Use Setup Script option.
- Enter the following address in the Script Address field: http://lib.comu.edu.tr/files/proxy.pac
- Exit by clicking the Save button.
Google Chrome
- Click on the icon in the top right corner of the page and open the Settings page.
- Type "proxy" in the Search Box and click on "Open your computer's Proxy settings" from the results.
- When the Proxy page opens, Turn on the Use Setup Script option.
- Enter the following address in the Script Address field: http://lib.comu.edu.tr/files/proxy.pac
- Click the Save button and exit the page.
Mozilla Firefox
- Enter the Application Menu.
- Click on the Options button.
- Go to the Network Settings section.
- Click the Settings button under the Network Settings tab.
- Check the Automatic Proxy URL box.
- Enter the following address in the address box: http://lib.comu.edu.tr/files/proxy.pac
- Click OK to exit.
Opera
- Select Settings from the menu in the upper left corner of your browser.
- On the Settings page, type proxy in the search box in the upper right corner and click on the Open your computer's Proxy settings tab.
- When the Proxy page opens, toggle the Use Setup Script option to On.
- In the Script Address box, enter the following address: http://lib.comu.edu.tr/files/proxy.pac
- Exit by clicking the Save button.
Safari
- Click on the Preferences button under the Settings tab
- Select the Advanced tab and click on the Change Settings button next to the proxies text.
- If you are using a wireless network, local area network or ADSL modem with an Ethernet connection: Click on the Local Network Settings... button
- Check the Auto-detect settings box.

- Click the OK button to exit.
Off-Campus Access Settings for Android Mobile Devices
- First, select the network to which the device is connected from the device's wifi settings and open the options menu.
- Select Proxy Auto Configuration from the proxy options.
- Enter http://lib.comu.edu.tr/files/proxy.pac in the PAC URL field and save.
