The iThenticate program is provided by ULAKBIM only for faculty members with a PhD degree or above to detect plagiarism in academic works (excluding student assignments and theses). iThenticate's data pool includes academic databases, journals and publications, and more than 17 billion web pages. Unlike Turnitin, publications checked with iThenticate are not added to the system's data pool.
- Academics who have completed at least a PhD degree are registered to the system according to the license requirements.
- The program should not be used for plagiarism detection of student assignments and theses, otherwise, the relevant accounts will be blocked.
- Each institution has an annual document scanning quota, in this direction, it is important that you do not scan the same documents repeatedly and scan the final version of your work as much as possible and get a report.
- Each 25,000-word document is counted as one, documents above this are perceived as a new document according to the word count and cause the quota to be filled.
- In order for journal editors to use the program, the journal they edit must be a journal published by our university and the editor must be a staff member of our university.
Academic staff (full-time only) who want to use the program should send an e-mail to busrabircancomu.edu.tr or zuhalkasapcomu.edu.tr with their institutional e-mail address (...comu.edu.tr) including their name/surname, academic/administrative position, and department information.
